Should I Rent Or Buy My Montana Log Home?

As more people begin to realize how great of a getaway the state of Montana is, the population has started to grow a little bit. People are now wanting to settle in their very own log cabins, although they are not sure about exactly how to go about it. It is important to understand the risks, pros and cons of renting your own log cabin verses buying it outright. There are always extremely important things to consider before making that jump and plunking down all of your hard-earned savings on a new home. When you own your own log cabin, there is no one to tell you what to do and how to do it. You are the owner and can make choices about expansion and decor. You don’t have to worry about dealing with a landlord or stress over keeping the place immaculate to avoid paying cleaning fees if and when you decide to move. On the downside, you have to replace anything that breaks and are in charge of all of the maintenance. This can get pretty expensive over time. Renting is a great option because the landlord is responsible for all upkeep as long as you live there. The downside is that you will never own the building. You are paying into another owner’s mortgage and have no say over what happens to the building or property.
